Breaking: Cooper Flagg Cancels Visit

A stunning disappointment, but there's another prospect on commit watch

Three NEW KU-Homefield Shirts 😯

Before the bad news… here’s something good: Homefield Apparel dropped three new KU shirts last week including the 1995 Aloha Bowl shirt you can see above. I’m for sure getting that one. The other two new shirts include a 1990s football crewneck and another retro shirt featuring the 1946 Jayhawk.

If you haven’t used it yet, you can get 20% off KU gear for one order by using the code below.

Cooper Flagg’s KU Visit Called Off

I’m Hearing 2024’s No. 1 recruit Cooper Flagg will no longer visit Kansas for Late Night in the Phog this Friday. Flagg’s visit to KU had been scheduled since early September. The coaching staff met with Flagg earlier this month and likely got indication of where they stood in the recruitment ahead of today’s cancellation.

KU’s pursuit of Flagg had always been somewhat of a long shot. The phenom called Duke his “dream school” growing up, but that didn’t stop the Kansas coaching staff from making Flagg their top priority for 2024. The canceled visit is a significant disappointment considering the massive amount of time and resources spent chasing the star power forward.

One source previously said KU’s pursuit of Flagg was as “all-in” as they’d ever seen for any one player. If you’re curious why KU put so much effort into recruiting the 6’8” PF, top Rivals analyst Rob Cassidy recently called Flagg “As can’t-miss as any player in the last few years.”

Simply, Flagg’s talent made him a worthwhile gamble for the Jayhawks. As things stand, it looks like the efforts won’t pay off.

Rakease Passmore Visit Moved Up 📈📈📈

While Flagg has dropped off the calendar for Kansas, a new player has hit the top of KU’s list. The Jayhawks are hosting 2024 4-Star wing Rakease Passmore this Friday at Late Night in the Phog.

Passmore is a top-50 prospect who has been a late addition on KU’s 2024 radar. The staff visited Passmore last week, and I’m Hearing it was a success for both parties.

Passmore named a top four of KU, Arkansas, LSU, and Oklahoma. I’m Hearing the Jayhawks are firmly in the lead here. I’ll be watching closely for a commitment following the visit this weekend.

If Passmore commits, the natural comparison for KU fans will be Ochai Agbaji.

Coming Soon for VIP Only 👀🔒

I’m hoping to land some VIP Only updates this week. These updates tend to be more speculative than definitive Hearings.

There are two stories I’d love to share for VIP supporters this week:

  • Jalon Daniels’ injury situation and status + PFF grades from KU-Texas.

  • How the KU hoops roster is looking for this season (players trending up or down).

As always, I’ll keep you posted. Thanks so much for your support. You help make KU Hearings possible.
