Mass Exodus at Kansas and Names to Watch

The Jayhawks are about to hit the portal hard. This post below is a bit hard to decipher, but I believe it means Self told Peterson not to be worried.

I'm Hearing five Kansas players have officially entered the transfer portal today, confirming the major roster overhaul that has been developing.

The following players are now officially in the portal:

• Flory Bidunga

• Rylan Griffen

• Rakease Passmore

• Diggy Coit

• Zach Clemence

• I expect AJ Storr will also enter the portal.

Note: Bidunga’s guardian told the KC Star they’re open to a return from Kansas. While a return is possible, I’m Hearing it’s unlikely. I don’t expect it right now. (story link)

This confirms a VIP exclusive from Saturday (first image below) and tracks with a Hearing from March 22 (second image).

Why I’m Not Panicking (Yet)

As you know, I've been tracking these potential departures for weeks. While the timing of all five entering is scary optics, I think four of the five were expected.

I’m Hearing the only surprise on KU’s side was with Bidunga’s exit. The rest either left on good terms or wanted NIL/Playing time that KU wasn’t able to promise.

KU’s roster for next year currently looks like:

• Darryn Peterson

• Elmarko Jackson

• Jamari McDowell

• Noah Shelby

• Bryson Tiller (not a guarantee)

• Samis Calderon (not a guarantee)

The wave of bad news is hopefully about over. I think KU is about to kick into portal overdrive.

  • ^Big East POY isn’t officially in the portal yet, but he’s announced his intent to enter. I’d think KU will show interest.
