HearingšØāāļø Kansas Goes to NCAA Court
Kansas officials ā including Bill Self and Kurtis Townsend ā had their long-awaited NCAA hearing this weekend in Atlanta. The hearing is the final major step KU needed to take to conclude its three-year-long NCAA infractions case.
An independent panel heard Kansas and an investigative unit lay out facts and argue their cases on Friday and Saturday. Closing statements and panel deliberation likely took place on Sunday.
The NCAA initially charged Kansas with five Level I violations.
Iāve Heard the Notice of Allegations has been amended multiple times. The IARPās website acknowledges at least one amendment. The amended violations likely look less severe than the first Notice of Allegations.
Kansas should now have an idea of where it stands, but the penalties likely wonāt be announced until later this summer. Nothing moves quickly with the NCAA. For example, Louisvilleās hearing occurred in mid-June last year, but the (light) penalties werenāt announced until November.
Self and Townsend staying in Atlanta explains why the Jayhawks didnāt host any visits this weekend while portal season is in full swing. In fact, it explains quite a bit about how KU had to schedule visits this month. Both Arterio Morris and Hunter Dickinson are expected to visit this week.
I have more to write about this case and the NCAA. As always, I'll continue to share what I'm Hearing. You can support The Hearings by forwarding this to anyone who would like it. Thank you for spreading the scoop šŖ
Yup, this is Scoopsmafia š¤£
If I Cameo request Hunter and tell him to say, āMy Name is Hunter Dickinson and I will be attending Kansas next seasonā, is that legally binding?
