New Homefield KU Football Gear Unveiled🔥🔥

KUHearings’ partner Homefield Apparel just dropped its new Platinum 2025 Football Box, which is the perfect set of gear to get ready for football season.

Along with the first-edition heavyweight hoodie, the Platinum box includes two exclusive designs:

  • The 1968 Big 8 Championship shirt. The design comes from the ticket to the actual game, which is so cool.

  • The Warhawk helmet + KU fight song long-sleeve T-shirt.

Homefield continues to deliver for KU fans. I love their gear, and their support has helped make KUHearings possible. Check out the new drop today!

🏀 Hearing: KU Hoops Staff Shakeup

The Hearing: Kansas appears to be facing another significant staff shake-up this offseason.

I’m Hearing KU is anticipating assistant coach Chase Buford will head to the NBA. Multiple sources have indicated he's expected to join the Denver Nuggets as an assistant coach.

I believe the Jayhawks have identified a top candidate after starting the interview process for Buford’s replacement. KU would like to move fast, and I think a new hire could be made in the next week.

VIP subscribers got this text as soon as I Heard the scoop. You’ll get word on possible replacements as soon as I Hear more by joining here!

Why This Matters

  • For KU: This is a meaningful loss to the Jayhawks’ staff this year Bill. Buford has been highly regarded as both an analytical-forward coach and player mentor during his time in Lawrence.

    • Sources indicated through last season and this spring that Bill Self and KU players thought highly of Buford, who won back-to-back titles as a head coach in the Australian Basketball League before joining KU’s bench.

    • The Jayhawks have had a staff overhaul this offseason, notably hiring Jacque Vaughn and losing Norm Roberts and “Coach Q.”

  • For Buford: Landing an NBA assistant role represents a major career leap and speaks to his coaching reputation across basketball circles. This sets him up well for the future. I’d think the job would be hard for Buford to pass up.

Bottom Line: Losing a respected assistant always stings, but Buford's NBA jump reflects well on the program's coaching tree. If he continues to progress, he checks a lot of boxes as an eventual candidate to one-day be a head coach at KU.

Stay locked in: I'll have more details as this situation develops.

New KU Football Stadium Details Unveiled

A ton of upgrades coming to the Kansas football fan experience were announced this week. This is a massive difference from the last…. century of Kansas football games.

Concerts at The Booth?

KU’s proposal to the City of Lawrence mentions a maximum of 8 ‘major concerts’ per year in the new stadium…

Which means KU is building in the possibility of hosting concerts in, or around, the football stadium. 🔥🔥

Local Food and Drink Favorites

Pre-Game Party Zone

KU secured unanimous city approval to sell alcohol and close 11th Street next to the stadium (Fambrough to Illinois) for a new, pedestrian only pre-game event zone at every home football game this season.

KU’s New Pre-Game Event Zone

Starting this season, 11th Street will transform into an enclosed pedestrian party zone on game days with:

  • Food vendors and alcohol sales

  • Tailgate games, music, and activities

  • Direct stadium access

This is more than just selling pre-game alcohol. KU Athletics seems to be doubling down on creating a fan-first culture. Instead of fans being scattered across parking lots if they’re not on The Hill, there’s now a central hub that will build energy before kickoff.
