Kansas-Wichita State Likely Happening

The Jayhawks announced their 2023-24 non-conference schedule this season, but it was one game short. The news release mentioned, “There is still one game to be added on the Kansas schedule.”

I’m Hearing Kansas vs. Wichita State is the likely game getting worked out. The game should take place in Kansas City and will be run by a “third-party promoter,” making it a bit unique. I’m guessing the game will take place around Dec. 29.

Schools are looking at new and creative ways to generate revenue, particularly in the NIL era. I expect this new push to have some unique aspects, given the third-party connections and KU’s prior reluctance to playing the Shockers.
