Kansas vs. Arkansas Exhibition?

I’m Hearing Kansas is close to finalizing a preseason exhibition game on the road at Arkansas to benefit NIL for both programs.

There should be a great crowd if it happens. The game would be open to the public, making it John Calipari’s home debut with the Razorbacks.

The game isn’t a done deal just yet. I’m Hearing it’s close to being locked in but it still isn’t a 100% sure thing.

I believe discussions have been going on for more than a month now as both sides work out the details.

This would be a fun one. The Razorbacks added Johnell Davis from FAU, D.J. Wagner from Kentucky, Jonas Aidoo from Tennessee, and what seems like a hundred other transfers.

The Jayhawks would pick up road experience with nothing to lose while bringing in additional NIL money for the program.

Kansas played an exhibition road game at Illinois last season in late October.

I’d guess this year’s game will be played in mid-to-late October (if it gets finalized).

As always, I’ll keep you posted.

KU’s alumni TBT team plays Colorado tonight (Wednesday) at 8pm CT in the Final 16 of the $1M winner-take-all tournament. The Jayhawk group won their first two games.

You can watch the game on FS1 or for free on the TBT website here.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ll enjoy watching highlights from Frank Mason’s 20-point outing in the KU team’s first game (shared below). It’s a great hit of nostalgia.

In the second game, LaGerald Vick led the team with 19-points going 5/11 from three.

Can you imagine Bill Self reacting to Vick shooting 11 threes? 😂

Here are the box scores from the first two games.

Game 2 Stats

🏀 Congrats to Jalen Wilson, who was named MVP of the NBA Summer League averaging 21.8 points, 4.6 rebs while shooting 55% from three. You can watch a 2-minute highlight clip here.

🏈 You could see the wheat-themed lights late last week on the Gateway District construction live cameras.

🏈 Kansas hired former Iowa WRs coach Kelton Copeland as an analyst. He’s got a ton of experience. You can see his bio here.
