Texas PG Arterio Morris to Visit Kansas This Week
Kansas has quietly been targeting one of the top players from last year’s recruiting class and is now ready to bring him in for a visit.
I’m Hearing former five-star and McDonald’s All-American PG Arterio Morris is expected to visit the Jayhawks on Tuesday this week. Morris played his freshman season at Texas with a misdemeanor domestic violence charge, according to the Austin American-Statesman. His trial date is set for June 14.
Morris was ranked 2022’s No. 1 PG recruit in 247Sports’ composite rankings. He committed to Texas over Kansas, Oregon, Florida, and Georgia — so the staff knows him well.
While Morris averaged just 4.6 points in 11.8 minutes per game for the Longhorns, he stood out as a defender and a player with promising upside. The 6’3” point guard would instantly help the Jayhawks with his athleticism, as KU fans might remember him finishing this alley-oop in the Big 12 Championship.
The Jayhawks are looking to add another point guard to their roster, and no other option has the kind of long-term upside that Morris brings. Kansas also plans on former Georgetown PG Primo Spears visiting April 25, according to 247HSHoops
As always, I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your support and for spreading the scoop.
