Why Signs Point to Kansas Landing Arterio Morris 🔮

Former five-star and McDonald’s All-American PG Arterio Morris said he’d announce his commitment in two days on Instagram Live. The Texas transfer plans to announce on Friday at 5pm.
I think there’s a good chance he ends up at Kansas. Here’s why:
Morris’ commitment timeline has moved up rapidly in 24 hours. Just one day earlier, Morris said he’d be committing in two weeks — not two days.
Here’s the key: I’d Heard the two-week timeline didn’t work well for KU. Morris moved up his decision timing just one day later. Now the timing works for KU.
At the same time, Georgetown PG Primo Spears is visiting Kansas today. The pressure is on for Morris to make a decision.
Kansas has been interested in Morris throughout his recruitment. He visited Lawrence on April 18. The door never closed, despite reports to the contrary.
The one caveat here is DePaul. Morris just visited the Chicago program this weekend, and I believe he has a prior relationship to head coach Tony Stubblefield.
DePaul has multiple roster spots to fill and plenty of playing time to offer… But it did take a commitment from guard Chico Carter (the same position and height as Morris) on Tuesday.
Kansas prioritized landing a guard all offseason. Morris could backup Dajuan Harris or play alongside him in the “two spot.”
Morris played his freshman season at Texas with a misdemeanor domestic violence charge, according to the Austin American-Statesman. His trial date is set for June 14.
Have Heard Kansas has, of course, looked into the legal situation, but much is still yet to be determined there.
Yup, Scoopsmafia is already on the case 🤣
