Hunter Dickinson is coming to townnnnnn 🎶
I am Hearing Hunter Dickinson is expected to visit Kansas next week. The Dickinson Recruitment is officially moving forward with Kansas.
Dickinson is expected to visit sometime toward the end of next week, after five-star Harrison Ingram’s visit to Lawrence early in the week.
The 7’1” big man who played the last three seasons at Michigan is also expected to visit Maryland and Georgetown. Now that we know the visit to Kansas is happening, I believe the Jayhawks are in a good position.
Please share this with your friends if you like the scoop!
First, let’s go back to my last update. I mentioned two things that are important here:
“I wont’t feel good about where KU stands until we get news of a visit to Lawrence.”
“I was told last night the conversations with KU and Dickinson have been legitimate. This is a fluid situation without much information. All signs with Dickinson until the visit news were fairly positive. Now — I’m not so sure.”
I was feeling positive about KU’s chances until the reports of visits surfaced without mentioning the Jayhawks. We now have the full picture, and KU is clearly in the running.
Dickinson, a second-team All-American, would be an immediate game-changer for KU. He averaged 18.5 points and 9 rebounds last season, and would be a critical addition to a roster in desperate need of some offensive firepower. The fit for both parties makes sense.
I ended Tuesday night thinking Kansas and Maryland were the two leaders in Dickinson’s recruitment. But I think it’s impossible to rule out Georgetown, and even Michigan, as well. There really isn’t much information available, which is actually notable here.
Most of the leaked information has come from Maryland with this recruitment. Based on my reporting experience1, I often believe that the silent parties are usually in the best positions. Maryland is pretty loud right now, while Kansas and Georgetown aren't. In fact, Kansas is on lockdown mode with this one.
I understand this may feel like a bit of whiplash with the last two updates. Recruiting isn't my usual area of expertise, but, as always, I'll continue to share what I'm Hearing.
Thanks for your support and spreading the scoop.
