Breaking: KU Announces Sponsor Logo for Court

Kansas has landed a significant corporate partnership deal that will bring a sponsor logo to James Naismith Court at Allen Fieldhouse.

The multi-year partnership is with FNBO (First National Bank of Omaha), and the logo will debut on KU’s November 30 game against Furman.

The Jayhawks released a video announcing the change, including a message from Bill Self:

ā€œThey are doing something in a big way to help with the new world of college athleticsā€

As part of the partnership, FNBO will provide complimentary tickets to military families and youth from underserved families.

Mike’s Take:

Look, I know putting an advertisement/sponsorship on James Naismith Court isn’t going to be a popular thing. KU has to be aware of this as well.

But in the modern era of college athletics, with NIL coming in-house, you have to either proactively generate revenue or get left behind.

I’m glad Goff and KU Athletics are willing to make a potentially unpopular decision when the opportunity calls for it.

I think this is one of those moments.

What the Betting Market Says about KU-Duke

  • Opening Line: Kansas as a 2.5 point underdog.

  • Current Line: Kansas as a 3 point underdog (10:31am CT, Friday)

  • Betting Splits: 67% of bets on Kansas, 94% of money on Kansas on CircaSports (via VSiN)

To be clear: The following is just my interpretation of the betting market and a unique way to look at a game. It is in no way betting advice or suggestions.

šŸ’° Analysis: Slight Pro Money on KU (so far).

I don’t see anything significant here, but it’s still early in the day.

KU was actually a 3.5-point underdog at some spots earlier today, with the line quickly dropping back down to 3.

I pulled today’s data from CircaSports (instead of DraftKings), because you can see some heavy money coming in on the Jayhawks today. I believe this action helped push the line back down to 3.

It looks like Circa has taken some sharp, or pro money on the Jayhawks.
