Jalon Speaks… and the Jayhawks are Pissed 😡
If you haven’t seen it already, Kansas QB Jalon Daniels sent a loud message on Thursday. The video appeared to be a direct response to anyone thinking he’s transferring after the season.
The message was clear: He’ll be back in Lawrence.
And I’ve Heard the players are FIRED UP to rally around their QB after he was trashed by a Kansas State reporter. I’ll share what I’m Hearing below, but first… watch the video.
Here’s why the Jayhawks are pissed:
As I understand it, the reporter who covers Kansas State for On3Sports, posted on a paywalled message board about “legitimate rumblings” that Daniels wouldn’t play in a game for Kansas again. The post was screenshotted and shared on Twitter.
The reporter posted again, saying Daniels’ sitting out may not be “injury related,” which is where I think the line was crossed.
The KC Star’s KU reporter Shreyas Laddha and 247Sports’ Michael Swain both commented on the situation, which is unusual from the two pros.
Here’s what I wrote on November 6 about the QB: “Ultimately, the quarterback has been in too much pain after he tries to get back on the field for KU. The details I’ve Heard really don’t sound like a player sitting out because he plans on transferring.”
I think Daniels previously planned on announcing his return to KU after the season. He didn’t want to take attention from a team ranked No. 16 in the country. But it got to a point where it was more distracting not to say something.

I’m Hearing the players aren’t blind to the situation. In fact, they’re rallying around it. I think Daniels expressed his frustration to the team. Players like Kenny Logan have been around long enough to know what this game means.
TL;DR: The Jayhawks are fired UP this week. They were already excited to play KState. And now they’re pissed off for their injured quarterback.
The Latest on Jason Bean 😬
I don’t think we’re gonna get clarity on Jason Bean’s status until Saturday.
I Heard the quarterback practiced the last two days and looked good, but I’m not sure if he’s been cleared for contact yet. The general idea is that he’s a game-time decision right now.
Freshman Cole Ballard, who was recently put on scholarship, has been sharing reps with the starters this week.
