Quick Recruiting Update 🏀

Say it with me: recruiting is a moving target.

Flory Bidunga | 5-Star | Big | Class of 2024 📈🔜

• Bidunga, 2024’s top-ranked center, is thought to be announcing his commitment soon. Like, later this week soon. He’ll be deciding between Kansas, Duke, Auburn, and Michigan.

• I’m Hearing good things about the Jayhawks’ chances for the 6’8” big man (if he does commit this week).

• This isn’t over at all, especially with Duke involved. But things are generally optimistic around Bidunga and KU at the moment.

• Budunga is the No. 4 overall player and No. 1 center on both Rivals and 247Sports’ rankings for the 2024 class.

Johnny Furphy | Aussie | Wing | 2023 or 2024 📉

• I’m Hearing some pessimism around the breakout Australian star who burst onto KU’s radar after a breakout showing at the NBA Academy games.

• The latest is that Furphy is leaning toward sticking to his plan and remaining in the 2024 class rather than moving up to 2023 and joining KU for this season. It’s not over yet, but that’s the current chatter I’m picking up on.

• If that happens, I have no idea where Furphy ends up for 2024. He’ll be competing against the entire class and transfer portal, so KU will have a ton of options.

Anyone Else? 🤷‍♂️

• I haven’t caught wind of additional players KU could target for 2023. It feels like the team needs another body, and I’ve heard rumors that they’re hoping for a late-summer grad transfer, but it seems unlikely right now.

• One option we should watch for is Zach Clemence not taking the redshirt. I’ve Heard he looks like a completely different player in practice this summer.
