KU-Texas Tech Betting Line Confusion

First, Kansas just announced The Booth is once again sold out 👏

A few of you have reached out asking about the betting line for KU’s game against Texas Tech. Here’s my read on it:

Opening Line: Kansas favored by 4.5

Current Line: Kansas favored by 3.5

My Take: There appeared to be some “pro-action” on Texas Tech early when the line first came out, but I’m not so sure things have stayed that way. The line briefly jumped back up to 4.5 on Wednesday night even. It has since settled at 3.5 points.

There appears to be some belief that this is a trap game for Kansas coming off a big road win with Kansas State looming.

Only 17 teams in the country throw it more than Texas Tech. We know KU allows opponents to complete a high percentage of passes by design. The key for Kansas defensively will be making Tech uncomfortable as they air it out. That’s my main concern for the game.

Bonus: Action Network and CFB insider Brett McMurphy picked this game to go over 62.5 for one of his betting selections of the week. I can see why he’d take that based on the info above.
