This one is looking pretty lopsided

I LOVE watching sports betting markets. They can generally indicate where “Pro Money” is landing on a particular game – and it looks like some of that action is on KU-Seton Hall tonight. One of the things I can do via The Hearings is summarize internet betting markets and interpret what I’m seeing to the best of my ability.

Quickly, "Pro Bettors" or "Sharp Money" are respected bettors. When they bet, oddsmakers might change lines based on their wager. However, even these "Pros" are only right ~55% of the time. The margins are THAT slim.

To keep it simple, I look for two things when analyzing betting markets:

1. Differences between the % of bets and % of money.

2. How odds are moving, which, as mentioned above, can come from Sharp Money bets.

TONIGHT: KU-Seton Hall.

Opening spread: KU is favored by 7.5 points.

Current spread: KU is now favored by 10 points (as of 2:30pm CT).

DraftKings is reporting 81% of bettors and 83% of money wagered is on Kansas to cover the spread. (via VSiN)

Action Network indicates "Pro Money" on KU, but at least one large bet has come in sometime recently on Seton Hall near +10.

My take: The line movement in this game is notable. There was likely “Pro Money” betting on Kansas with the opening spread of 7.5. Action Network showing a big bet coming in later also indicates 10 points might now be attractive to larger bettors. Most importantly, the number (10) hasn't changed.

Looks like the pros like KU by at least 7.5 points tonight.
