Now for the three quick takes…
Quick Takes:
1) A (Relatively) Easy Start
KU may not play a team ranked in the preseason top 25 until its Feb. 3 meeting vs. Houston in Allen Fieldhouse. Of course, preseason rankings don’t mean much — and road games against Oklahoma State, West Virginia, and Iowa State can all be challenging.
But the schedule is set for KU to jump out to an early lead in Big 12 play.
2) The February Onslaught
An easy January means a brutal February in the Big 12. KU’s four-game stretch to start the month goes: Saturday vs. Houston, Monday vs. K-State, Saturday vs. Baylor, and Monday at Texas Tech.
That is just brutal! Especially when you look at those Saturday-Monday turnarounds.
3) A Grande Finale
Playing against Kansas State on Senior Night will be a blast, particularly if the Jayhawks are playing for a piece of the conference title. That’ll be a great way to pay tribute to whatever players we expect to see the last of in Allen Fieldhouse come March.
And then the regular season finale at Houston will be a tough one on ESPN. Hopefully, the conference is locked up by then… and if not.. it’ll at least be a lot of fun to watch.
