Why Mahomes May Not Be Thrilled with KU at Arrowhead
I’m Hearing Patrick Mahomes allegedly isn’t a fan of KU playing at Arrowhead Stadium this year. The Star QB wants his field in the best possible shape for the Chiefs.
I don’t believe this is a major deal or causing any disruptions for the Chiefs or the Jayhawks. One source told me, they don’t blame Mahomes for wanting the field to be in its best possible condition. The source suggested Mahomes was right to voice his concern.
It hasn’t been the only detail needing some slight smoothing out with KU at Arrowhead.
On Thursday KCUR (KC NPR) reported KU and the Chiefs haven’t signed a contract to play at Arrowhead Stadium. The Jayhawks play at Arrowhead in 72 hours.
To be clear, I’ve Heard there is no issue with the upcoming Arrowhead games.
Instead, minor but nonzero details are outstanding, which is why the final agreement hasn’t yet been signed (tho I think that could happen any minute here).
I DO NOT believe Mahomes’ potential agitation over the field has anything to do with the contract not being signed.
Here are a few possible small details I’ve caught wind of that may have taken a while to get worked out, though it’s difficult to know when exactly these conversations were taking place.
It’s possible that underwhelming ticket sales performance could end up leading to KU owing the Chiefs additional money.
I’ve Heard the split of suite profits has been an ongoing point of discussion.
And I think parking pass availability and cost were a smaller detail that might’ve gotten worked out later in the process.
In a world full of non-stories this one might take the cake 😂. Looking forward to a great day on Saturday (and 3 subsequent Saturdays) at the home of the champs!

While I wouldn’t call it a non-story and think it was fair to write about this, I would say the story was missing some context… such as… KU and the Chiefs all expect there to be a game at Arrowhead on Saturday.
