KU Football Stadium Rendering Leak 🧐

Late last week, a rendering leaked for KU’s stadium renovations. While I’m Hearing this image is real, it’s still an EARLY conceptual idea for the stadium. The details are still likely to change.

My take: The rendering includes key concepts, like closing the open end zone, a big chunk of premium seats and suites right in the middle, the new convention center, and the hotel. Those big-picture ideas shouldn’t change much.

Many fans were worried about capacity, parking, and tailgating, but I don’t think this conceptual rendering would include something like that. KU knows it’ll need parking. My hope is that KU actually creates a fun tailgating experience on the Hill for everyone, not just donors.

I know the reduced capacity was surprising. But let’s be real as a fanbase. KU needs a stadium that people WANT to return to, not just once but over and over again. The focus should be on creating the right experience for the 40,000-45,000 who will show up, game after game.

Ultimately, this stadium is going to be really nice, really expensive, and a really big change on The Hill.
