Hearing: KU Transfer Out with Foot Injury

I’m Hearing KU’s transfer PG Shakeel Moore suffered a foot injury that is expected to keep him out until around the start of the season in November.

I first shared this Hearing in Monday morning’s KU newsletter with VIP subscribers. JayhawkSlant later confirmed the Hearing as a broken foot.

While Moore will likely miss critical practice time with the team over the next few weeks, I haven’t Heard any indication of this being a long-term concern.

The timeline creates a tight window for Moore to get back in time for the Nov. 4 opener vs. Howard. I’d think the PG is unlikely to play in KU’s exhibition vs. Arkansas.

KU’s schedule ramps up quickly, with the Jayhawks playing North Carolina on Nov. 8 and Michigan State on No. 12.

I’ve Heard very good things about Moore’s play in practice so far. He’s expected to be an important piece in KU’s rotation as a veteran backup PG.

On Monday, KU Hoops posted a picture from the school’s student athlete awards. The photo didn’t include Moore.

The injury likely creates an opening for KU’s late transfer addition Diggy Coit from Northern Illinois.

As a positive, I’ve Heard good things about Coit’s game. He’s really small, but he can really score.

I’ll keep you posted on Moore’s recovery timeline as we get closer to the season.
