What the Betting Market Says about KU-KState
🏟️ Kansas @ No. 16 Kansas State
📺 7pm CT on ESPN2
💰 Kansas is a 9.5-point underdog
To be clear: The following is just my interpretation of the betting market and a unique way to look at a game. It is in no way betting advice or suggestions.
Opening Line: Kansas as a 10.5 point underdog.
Current Line: Kansas as a 9.5 point underdog (2:08pm CT, Friday)
• Betting Splits: 24% of bets on Kansas, 44% of money on Kansas on DraftKings (via VSiN)
💰 Analysis: Pro Money on KU
The Jayhawks are “sharp.”
While the majority of bettors are backing Kansas State, the larger bets are on the Jayhawks to keep it close. Typically, these larger, line-moving bets are indications of “pro” betting.
Here’s how the line has moved through the week:
Monday: KU +10.5
Tuesday @ 6:40am: KU +11
Tuesday @ 11:43am: KU +10
Friday AM: KU +9.5
According to ActionNetwork, two large bets were placed on Kansas within a few hours of each other Tuesday, moving the line from +11 to +10.
Another significant bet came in for Kansas on Friday morning, pushing the line down to +9.5.
My read is that the public took KState early — and then pro money came in hard on the Jayhawks to cover.
Does It Mean Much?
Pro bettors are right maybe, ~54% of the time. So, while it doesn’t guarantee much, it’s still a positive side when they’re on your side.
And this week, it looks like their side is with the Jayhawks

KU-Arkansas Exhibition
🏟️ Kansas @ Arkansas
📺 8pm CT on SEC Network
Hearing:
I’m Hearing Bill Self and John Calipari will be mic’d up for tonight’s exhibition.
Quick Thought:
You don’t want to overreact to an October exhibition, but there’s one thing I’m interested in seeing tonight.
KU’s biggest issue last season was a lack of depth. It ranked No. 310 in bench minutes played.
The Jayhawks spent the whole offseason adding veteran players to this roster. On paper, they’re very deep.
We’ll get our first look KU’s shiny new bench vs. Arkansas with Dickinson, Griffen, and Moore sitting out.
Everyone will get their chance tonight.
Let’s see what they do with it.
Here’s your link to copy and paste this Hearing if you want to share it with fellow Jayhawks.

🏈 Scott Van Pelt is taking the Jayhawks to cover.
Hell to the yeah @notthefakeSVP

🏈 The 8 CBSSports football experts are split on this game.
🏈 Danny Kanell and Chip Patterson are both on the Jayhawks to cover.

Q: In 2004, KU football broke a streak of 11 straight losses to Kansas State.
Who was KU’s QB in the 2004 streak-busting win vs. K-State?
A: Adam Barrman started it. Jason Swanson finished it. Both QBs had a TD pass. Box score.
Thanks everyone for answering. Next time, I’ll shout out the first names of everyone who got it right. (I figured I should make that clear before doing it).
